A musical tale of an aging artist encountering psychedelic dreams, nightmares, and characters from his past. What started as a bio-pic turned into a narrative blend of documentary and surrealistic psychedelia premiering as an installation exhibit.

The projections danced around and the mental breakdown sequence turned out to be a trip.
The film takes place inside Daniel Johnston's head which is a place that inspires and scares me, if I’m being honest. I

Moby and Gary Basemen drop by the show. Gary showed me a lil book of drawings and I freaked. Lots of colorful cute cupcake creatures.
The paintings had recordings of Daniel from 1983. People were hugging the walls all night.

Over the course of the night there must have been a thousand people moving through the gallery, watching the film, meeting Daniel, tripping out on art.
Honored to have Jeff Fuerzig, director of The Devil and Daniel Johnston at the premiere. I'm a huge fan of his film and it meant the world to have his presence felt.
